Dear readers,

Once again, i'm back to the blogosphere! Currently enjoying my holidays while working part time at D'monte. Everyday is a holiday for me because i get to do what I want to and my parents would not stop bringing me out for food hunting and shopping!!

Dad brought us to Lone Pine for "Tiffin Lunch" today ...

We had buns and hainanese spring rolls as the starter, papadoms, soup, main course and finally the dessert.

As the name suggests, the dishes were served in tiffins..

Headed to Straits Quay right after lunch to get something from the Book Fair ( which we had just visited two days ago )
Left the book fair empty handed, but we ended up having afternoon tea @ Delicious before heading home.

1)学会沉默

有时候，你被人误解，你不想争辩，所以选择沉默。本来就不是所有的人都得了解你，因此你认为不必对全世界喊话。却也有时候，你被最爱的人误解，你难过到不想争辩，也只有选择沉默。全世界都可以不懂你，但他应该懂，若他竟然不能懂，还有什么话可说?生命中往往有连舒伯特都无言以对的时刻，毕竟不是所有的是非都能条列清楚，甚至可能根本没有真正的是与非。那么，不想说话，就不说吧，在多说无益的时候，也许沉默就是最好的解释。

(2)至少平静

在你跌入人生谷底的时候，你身旁所有的人都告诉你：要坚强，而且要快乐。坚强是绝对需要的，但是快乐?在这种情形下，恐怕是太为难你了。毕竟，谁能在跌得头破血流的时候还觉得高兴？但是至少可以做到平静。平静地看待这件事，平静地把其他该处理的事处理好。平静，没有快乐，也没有不快乐。

(3)学会弯腰这会是我意外的收获

和别人发生意见上的纷歧，甚造成言语上的冲突，所以你闷闷不乐，因为你觉得都是别人恶意。别再耿耿于怀了，回家去擦地板吧。拎一块抹布，弯下腰，双膝着地，把你面前这张地板的每个角落来回擦拭干净。然后重新省思自己在那场冲突，所说过的每一句话。现在，你发现自己其实也有不对的地方了，是不是?你渐渐心平气和了，是不是?有时候你必须学习弯腰，因为这个动作可以让你谦卑。劳动身体的同时，你也擦亮了自己的心绪。而且，你还拥有了一张光洁的地板呢。这是你的第二个收获。

(4)不要想如果当初

你说，人生是一条有无限多岔口的长路，永远在不停地做选择。如果只是选择吃炒面或炒饭，影响似乎不大，但选择读什么科系、做什么工作、结婚或不结婚、要不要有孩子，每一个选择都影响深远，而不同的选择也必定造就完全不一样的人生。你又说，生命中不可承受之情，就在于人生没有重来的机会啊。如果当初如何如何，现在就不会怎样怎样...这种充满怅然的喃喃自语，还是别再多说了吧。每一个岔口的选择其实没有真正的好与坏，只要把人生看成是自己。独一无二的创作，就不会频频回首如果当初做了不一样的选择。

(5)努力吧不管成功与否至少曾经美丽

漫步林间，你看见一株藤蔓附着树干，柔软与坚实相互交缠，你感动于这静美的一幕。让幸福与归属就此驻足吧。你想。不知未来会有怎样一番风雨摧折？也许藤将断、树会倒，也许天会荒，地将老。你又想。那么，请时光停格在此刻吧。停格即是永恒。永恒里若有这静美的一刻，未来可能遭遇的种种劫难，便已得到了安慰与报偿。

(6)保持单纯

因为思虑过多，所以你常常把你的人生复杂化了。明明是活在现在，你却总是念念不忘着过去，又忧心忡忡着未来；坚持携带着过去、未来与现在同行，你的人生当然只有一片拖泥带水。而单纯是一种恩宠状态。单纯地以皮肤感受天气的变化，单纯地以鼻腔品尝雨后的青草香，单纯地以眼睛统摄远山近景如一幅画。单纯地活在当下。而当下其实无所谓是非真假。既然没有是非，就不必思虑；没有真假，就无须念念不忘又忧心忡忡。无是非真假，不就像在做梦一样了吗?是呀，就单纯地把你的人生当成梦境去执行吧。

(7)偶尔'俗气'...

吃多了健康食品，偶尔你也想啃一啃鸭舌头和盐酥鸡。看多了大师名剧，偶尔你也想瞄一瞄耳光摔不完眼泪掉不完的连续剧。听多了古典音乐，偶尔你也想唱一唱爱他一百年又恨他一万年的流行歌曲。你知道健康食品对健胃整肠有意义，大师名剧对培养气质有意义，古典音乐对提升性灵有意义，可是，偶尔你其实并不想让自己时时刻刻活得那么有意。人生不需要把自己绑得那么紧。偶尔的小小放纵，是道德的。灵气充满或许接近大人，但偶尔的俗气会更平易近人。

(8)控制情绪别浪费了~

今天的你，是不开心的你，因为有人在言语间刺伤了你。你不喜欢吵架，所以你离开；可是你只是离开了那，却没有离开被那人伤害的情境，因此你愈想愈生气。愈有气，你就愈没有力气去理会别的事情，许多更该用心去做去想去处理的事件，就在你漫天漫地的心烦意乱之中，被轻忽被漠视被省略了。因为，你只是一心一意地在生气。在情绪上做文章，这是对自己的浪费，而且是很坏的浪费。毕竟，生气也是要花力气的，而且生气一定伤元气。所以，聪明如你，别让情绪控制了你，当你又要生气之前，不妨轻声地提醒自己一句：“别浪费了。”

(9)抓住最好的时机绝不错过

你曾经买了一件很喜欢的衣裳却舍不得穿，郑重地供奉在衣柜里；许久之后，当你再看见它的时候，却发现它已经过时了。所以，你就这样与它错过了。你也曾经买了一块漂亮的蛋糕却舍不得吃，郑重地供奉在冰箱里；许久之后，当你再看见它的时候，却发现它已经过期了。所以，你也这样与它错过了。没有在最喜欢的时候上身的衣裳，没有在最可口的时候品尝的蛋糕，就像没有在最想做的时候去做的事情，都是遗憾。生命也有保存期限，想做的事该趁早去做。如果你只是把你的心愿郑重地供奉在心里，却未曾去实行，那么唯一的结果，就是与它错过，一如那件过时的衣裳，一如那块过期的蛋糕。

(10)偶尔的出离轨道

某次你搭火车打算到A地去，中途却忽然临时起意在B地下了车。也许是别致的地名吸引了你，也许是偶然一瞥的风景触动了你，总之，你就这样改变了本来预定的行程，然后经历了一场充满惊奇的意外旅行。A地是你原先的目标，B地却让你体会了小小的冒险。回忆起来，你说，那是一次令你难忘的出轨经验。生命中的许多时候不也如此？心无旁骛地奔赴唯一的目的，不过是履行了原本的行程而已；离开预设的轨道，你才有机会发现其他的风景。

(11)悄悄悄悄地回归平静..

曾经有一段时间，你心情低落，甚至懒得拉开窗帘，看着窗外的阳光。因此你当然也忘了去看看，窗台上那一盆每天都需要喝水的玛格丽特。如此不知过了多久，总算有一天，你度过了心情的低潮，同时也想起了你的玛格丽特。天啊，可怜的花，她还活着吗？你战战兢兢地拉开窗帘，却见她迎风招摇，花颜可掬。原来在过去的这段日子里，你虽然忘了喂她喝水，老天却没忘了以雨露眷顾她呢。许多事物悄悄地在你的视线之外进行，而且悄悄地安排好了它们自己。天生万物，天养万物，一切其实无须担心......你只要做的就是做好自己，不留任何遗憾...足矣。我要拿这篇文章以此来借鉴自己,提醒自己...........

关于爱情：

不要认为后面还有更好的，因为现在拥有的就是最好的。不要认为还年轻可以晚些结婚，爱情是不等年龄的。不要因为距离太远而放弃，爱情可以和你一起坐火车的。不要因为对方不富裕而放弃，只要不是无能的人，勤劳可以让你们富裕的。不要因为父母反对而放弃，你会发现因为这个原因而反放弃的爱情，将是你一生的悔恨。其实对于爱情，越单纯越幸福。一生只谈一次恋爱是最好的，经历的太多了，会麻木；分离多了，会习惯；换恋人多了，会比较；到最后，你不会再相信爱情；你会自暴自弃；你会行尸走肉；你会与你不爱的人结婚，就这样过一辈子。

关于爱情：

也许爱情是一部忧伤的童话，惟其遥远与真实。放弃一个爱你的人并不痛苦，放弃一个你爱的人那才痛苦。若是有缘时间空间都不是距离，若是无缘总是相聚也无法合意；凡事不必太在意，更不需去强求，就让一切随缘。逃避不一定躲得过；面对不一定最难过；孤独不一定不快乐；得到不一定长久；失去不一定不再拥有。爱是一种享受，即使痛苦也会觉得幸福；爱是一种体会，即使心碎也会觉得甜蜜；爱是一种经历，即使破碎也会觉得美丽；不要因为寂寞而错爱，不要因为错爱而寂寞一生。

关于伴侣：

伴侣不是结婚时发誓非你不娶或非你不嫁的那个人，而是发现你身上有许多缺点仍然选择你的那个人；伴侣不是生活中你爱吃黄瓜ta也爱吃黄瓜的那个人，而是你吃蛋清ta吃蛋黄的那个人；伴侣不是天黑了和你一起手挽手走进饭店的那个人，而是守在门口巴望你回来共进晚餐的那个人；伴侣不是和你大谈爱情，把“我爱你” 挂在嘴边的那个人，而是和你平淡的唠叨柴米油盐、锅碗瓢盆的那个人。在幸福的婚姻中，伴侣已不是一个具体的人，而是你和ta在几十年的岁月中沉淀下来的：一份默契、一份温情、一份平淡、一份理解、一份宽容。爱ta就要让ra开心，这就是伴侣........

关于承诺：

关于人生：

One week after final exams

Have been enjoying myself since last thursday. Although I come online most of the time since exam ended, but I didn't have the oomph to update my blogie until now. Finally this "Highest Stress Course", quote huijing again, had come to an end, and I really had a lot of fun with my coursemates this year. A short period of time well spent with a bunch of nice nice friends! You guys will definitely be deeply missed. I'm an undergrad now! After this HSC course, we will all do different courses in different universities scattered in different places of the world. The FAQ after pre-u course will be " What course will you be taking next year ? " Hmm. I do have a few plans in mind, but still can't make up my mind. Aiks. Hope my results will be ok and everything will turn out well.

Since I have plenty of time now,I've decided to get myself a job. Went for an interview at D'monte Kindergarten earlier this week and am going to start work TOMORROW :D That is why i'm updating my blog - to keep my readers updated before I "hibernate" for another month ;p Hope it'll be fun dealing with the cute cute kids. This is my first time working and it'd better turn out to be good !

Sis was back for 3 weeks Raya break and we had a great time together. Bet she enjoyed her holidays. I very much enjoy her company, although she may be annoying at times, especially when she's hyper disturbing ;P I know, she is starting to feel stressful cause her exam is coming soon! Speaking of exams, final is just around the corner - 3 more weeks to go. Quote One FM, life is like a football match, even if we lose in the first half, we still have a chance to score our goal in the last half. So people out there, if you're just about to give up, keep your cool and continue to strive hard ! Hello world. Today's the last day of inter-semester break and gotta update my blog before i abandon it for another two months ! Had so much fun during this break. Spent the first few days going out with my lovely parents and the last few hanging out with my buddies.

I really enjoyed this holiday and am now ready for college! Can't wait to meet my friends (:

Oh yeah. Got my copy of September's CLEO - Biggest Issue Ever consisting 400+ pages! Happyyy. They've got interesting articles such as - The C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E Guide (September 4th is the World's Chocolate Day), Facebook Display Of Affection, Style Grab and more!

The one i like most is " Are you an online narcissist? ". Some clinical psychologist stated, " Twittering stems from a lack of identity. It's a constant update of who you are, what you are, where you are. Nobody would twitter if they have a strong sense of identity. " . It is true that we have turned into a generation of narcissists, posting irrelevant stuffs(most of the time) on Facebook or Twitter to some 500 "friends" everyday.

Hmmmmmmmm.

Heeelllooo. Pathetic blog I have here. I'm starting to abandon my bloggie. Could not blame it on exams though, cuz i still go to facebook 3-4 times a day, read magazines, waste time, do anything but update my blog. Poor blog that has a terrible owner. Ask me why I'm not updating on any other days but 3 days before trials ? I don't know, just feel like updating my dear blog all of a sudden while checking the links Ms Leela gave us yearsss ago and English past year papers.

HSC students often grumble, why is ESL ( English As a Second Language ) included in this course - those silly listening tests, what sense of belonging and all. After 7 months of learning this subject, I am beginning to have a slight sense of belonging towards this subject (although I still think that Heat and Dust is nothing but crap). It is more than just learning English, but it helped us, or at least, me, to have a better understanding towards life. My ESL lecturer, Ms Grace has imparted the wisdom on philosophy of life to us for the past few months.

" If you always try to please other people, you'll get exhausted" .
Fully agreed. We should always do things to satisfy ourselves (not to the extent that will harm other people) ,and not doing it for anyone else.

One hour plus ride up the long snaking road and here we are, Cameron Highlands ! Yes, we had a trip to Cameron ,AGAIN. After 5 months of college life ,this was my first break, excluding CNY holidays. Since I've just finished my exams and sis is going to work soon, my parents decided to cheer us up and at the same time, escape from the heat in Penang .

This trip, dad decided to make it special , so we had a bungalow stay at the SPM resort home. The bungalow was comfy but it's a little bit creepy at night, especially when you see tiny little insects flying around !! Steamboat dinner was much more enjoyable this time , because the restaurant was less packed as it's not a school holiday. Yums ! What can be better than having steamboat in Cameron Highlands ?

In the afternoon, the weather there is almost the same as Penang Hill's , but it's nippy when the night comes. All in all, we had a good time in Cameron although it was just a short trip. On the way back, we dropped by Ipoh to have dinner at Kizuna (recommended by my cousin). Thanks to mum and dad for the holiday!

Looking back, the last time I blogged was after my first assesment, which was two months back ! Now that i've finished my mid-year exam and have a week of holidays, I can finally find some time to blog. And this post, is specially for Ms. Huijing Koay who kept encouraging me to update and now i know I have,at least, one loyal reader :)

Dear Earthlings, I'm backkk! My first exam in college ended officially today!! There was no electricity throughout the college this morning. Classes of other courses were cancelled, but our HSC exams still went on. Imagine yourself sitting in a stuffy room while having physics exam for an hour. What a day! Tomorrow I will have a day off and i want to have a good time before the big day. Thursday is the day we collect our SPM results!!! I doubt if i could get a good sleep the night before. The feeling is the same as two years ago when PMR results were released.

Anyway,I will be going to college tomorrow to film our advertisement. This filming is for my English group assignment. Can't wait for the filming session to come, it'll be sooo much fun !

While i am blogging here, the outside world is being showered by pathetically few drops of rain. Global warming- do you all feel it ?

What a wonderful world !

First week at college was fantastic though it was more tiring than I thought. Classes started on Monday and I have been coming home with loads of homework daily. Each period of lecture is about an hour and I find it tiring when there's a continuous two hours of teaching although lecturers do give short breaks in between. Lecturers had repeatedly told us to brush up our english by reading the newspaper as the english level in HSC is much higher than SPM. Most lecturers were friendly and approachable. My chemistry lecturer, Ms. Leela is exceptionally strict,but she's stern in a reasonable way. Physics lecturer, Mr. Yap was a former PCGHS teacher who has retired and he's a very experienced lecturer. Campus facilities are quite well-equipped. The library has a very conducive surrounding except that students talk loudly without much consideration for others,and some seniors even play cards there. WI-FI is also available throughout the campus so we can access to the internet. Oh, there's also a music room for students! But it can only be occupied after 4:45pm because of lectures going on few doors away. Food catered by the cafeteria is just so-so, and I find it too oily for my liking. College life can be fun in the sense that there are less stupid rules to obey & I get to study with some primary schoolmates whom I've not seen for years. Got the chance to catch up on the lost time with some of my primary schoolmates like Adoria and Heng Hui Jing. Many PCGHS girls were also doing HSC in INTI while some took A-level. All in all, I had fun throughout the week and hope to have more excitement in the coming days !!

Joined Bren Da, Soo Fei and Ming Ming for the countdown to a brand new 2010 at Queensbay. It was a last minute thing cuz my parents decided to go to Queens to feel the usher of the new year. From the pictures below, you could see that there was a huge crowd enjoying the performances by various artists. I must say, the stage was fantastically set up and the performances by a few taiwanese singers & emerging Malaysian singers were great. We had a blast during that night, spending most of our times screaming and yelling our throats out. There was also a 8-minute fireworks after the 20-second-countdown.

I'll be in College very very soon and commencing a brand new life in 2010. Since it is just the start of a new year, it is a good time to reflect and get things right! 2009 had its share of ups and downs, gains and losses. I hope that 2010 will be much better than the years before. All the best to everyone, and may you and I have an incredible 2010 =)

During Uncle Robert's recent family trip to Penang, we visited Kek Lok Si where the newly completed giant statue of Kuan Yin Pu Sa ( Goddess of Mercy ) is. The statue is sheltered by a new pavilion which has the support of dragon pillars imported from China. As it was Christmas day, the place was packed with tourists as well as the locals. After that, we walked around the stalls selling all kinds of merchandise.

In the evening, we went to the newly opened Hard Rock Hotel. The hotel was crowded with guests but filled with Christmas atmosphere. A live band was performing with mostly rock musics. We left the camera at home so there's no pictures taken this time. Sorry folks!

Baiyoke Sky Hotel
Had dinner on two occasions at a lower level restaurant in Baiyoke Sky Hotel and the food was awesome. During the weekends, diners were entertained to a Thai cultural dance.

Reservations had to be made in advance for buffet dinner served at the 76th and 78th level of Baiyoke Sky, Thailand's tallest building. It has a spectacular view of Bangkok. The buffet spread is awesome with asian and western cuisines but we were disappointed with the taste of the food. There was a 3-member band who entertained the diners with Thai and English songs. Later, they serenaded a group of Koreans sitting next to our table with some Korean songs. The band's performance was very entertaining.

Food & Shopping

Shopping and eating in the comfort of air-conditioned malls in Bangkok is really an experience. Food courts at Siam Paragon, Central World and MBK come with a dazzling selection of Asian and Western cuisines.

Most of the upmarket shopping malls are situated in the Sukhumvit district and the skywalk will link you from one mall to another. For a bargain hunter's paradise, you may want to opt for Chatuchak, the weekend market. There are reportedly more than 5,000 stalls in this gigantic place. You can see the locals and foreigners crowding this place as early as 10am. The easiest way to get around Bangkok is to use the Skytrain to move through the city. You get good view of the city in the rides. The fare is cheap but if you're travelling in a group of 4 or more, then it is more economical to take a cab.

While scouring for food, we found this place called ZOOD Noodle at Central World. Most of the restaurants are located at level 7

Jim Thompson's House & Museum

This small but fine museum is the former home of the man who saved the Thai silk industry from collapse. Jim Thompson was the legendary Thai Silk King. He was an American businessman who helped rebuild the Thai Silk industry. He mysteriously disappeared during a walk while in Cameron Highlands and his fate remains unknown until today. Constructed from six different traditional teak houses, once inside you will find Jim Thompson's fine collection of arts and artifacts from Thailand and South East Asia. Architectural drawings of the house were completed by Jim Thompson and his Thai architect and it is a very unique yet artistic house. We were not allowed to take photos in the interior part of the house.

According to our guide, Jim Thompson was born a Christian but he did not have any religous believes, although he had many buddha sculptures and painting collections in his house. The altar in the picture below is to prevent evil spirits from entering the house, according to Thai superstitions and believes.

If you ever go to Bangkok, you should consider visiting The Jim Thompson House. The entrance fee costs 100 Baht for adult and 50 baht for student. The tour is reasonably priced and is worth the visit as the house has heaps and heaps of fascinating artifacts.

Holidays started off with a family trip to Bangkok! This was my very first visit to Thailand and it was indeed an incredible and unforgettable trip !

On the very first day, we reached Bangkok around 9pm(M'sian time), we were STARVING. So, after checking into the hotel, we went around searching for food. Found a roadside hawker stall serving beef ball noodles and we decided to give it a try. The surrounding was quite dirty but the noodles turned out to be good, especially when all of us were hungry.

Along the street stalls, we also savoured some local favourites, the thai-styled kuihs.

The small bowl of noodle by the roadside was not able to fill up our stomach, so we went to Baiyoke Sky Hotel's restaurant to have another meal :)

While waiting for our food to be served, we enjoyed good music by the pianist . A very well-mannered pianist who greeted most of the guests who walk into the restaurant.

We were on a half-day tour the next day and we were told to wake up at 6 something in the morning. The tour leader brought us to visit the Chao Phraya River. Our tour guide, ah ying, provided us with a lot of useful information in a very entertaining manner.

This is the Bangkok Railway Station. Have a guess how long it takes to reach Penang(Butterworth) from Bangkok by train ? - 24 hours by Eastern & Oriental Express, a luxurious carriage. The Thai King is very popular and well respected, as you can see the King's picture in most public places and this one in front of the railway station.

The Chao Phraya river. I've read about it in history but didn't thought i'd have a chance to visit it :) We were told the Thais depended very much on this river for their water supply.

Yay!!! SPM exam is finally over. And it's play-time !!! What a relief ! I still managed to gain weight despite having stressful exams :) I've been snacking away ... Today, i finally had the chance to hang out with my buddies at Queensbay to celebrate Huijing's birthday. We really had fun and a good time chit-chatting. Stay tuned for more updates !

Finally, I've got something to blog about. Hahahahaha.

I attended this Forensic Camp organized by INTI college months ago(during the June holidays), and just got the photos yesterday so I thought of sharing them on my blog.

On that day, we were first brought to a small room and were briefed on courses offered in INTI, then we proceeded to another room for a talk on DNA stuffs, then carried out some experiments. We also had the chance to observe some micro-organisms like paramecium & amoeba under the light microscope,which was far better and more advanced than those provided by our school!

After that, we had a crime investigating "CSI" game -The Murder of Dr. Looi. We were divided into three different groups and the group that resolves the case first will win. We were brought to separate rooms to question different people and also to search for evidences.

Ahhh, I have not logged into Roger Federer's official website for weeeekkss. Finally dropped by his web today and found out this piece of wonderful news :

" Federer and his wife, Mirka proudly announced the birth of their twin daughters who were born Thursday night!! "

So happy for him :) Their twins are named Charlene Riva & Myla Rose. Really nice names!!! Who knows? The twins may be the future Serena & Venus Williams ... Congratulations, FedEx !

KL trip

Last Sunday, we went to KL to meet my ah yi from Sarawak. My ah yi came to KL on a trip organized by her school in Miri. Mum had not seen her for a few years and decided to meet up with her in KL to catch up on the lost time. We arrived in KL at about 11am but went round searching for the hotel. We had booked it through net and it was our first time staying there. After several attempts, we still couldn't find the hotel (mind you, we had the hotel map otherwise we would have been lost!). In fact, we were in the vicinity of the hotel, but couldn't locate it. Suddenly our Hero-- Uncle Robert rang up and said he's already at the hotel waiting for us. So mum asked him to come and lead us to the hotel. By then, it was already 12.30pm. HAHA. Then, we contacted ah yi and she's at Sungai Wang Plaza. After picking up ah yi, we went back to the hotel and walked over to KLCC, which was within a short distance from our hotel to have our lunch. It was almost 2.30pm when we had lunch in KLCC. We did some shopping, bought mainly food stuff and juices before heading back to the hotel. Back at the hotel, mum, Uncle Robert & family and ah yi were busy chatting. Mum then invited ah yi to stay overnight with us at the hotel as we had booked a two room suite and the place was spacious enough to put in an extra bed. :) Ah yi agreed to abandon her colleagues for one night to spend time with us.

Right after dinner, sis requested to do more shopping at Pavilion, but I was already so so so tired, I decided to accompany dad back to the hotel since he had not been feeling too well due to the hot weather. Moreover, there's broadband in our room so i can go online while ah yi, my mum and my sis can do their shopping. Once back from shopping, ah yi and my mum sat down to continue where they left off earlier. They chatted all night long, while ah yi told us some interesting stories about her family and I sat down listening to the funny conversations. Ah yi told us some stories about Ai Ling ( hey girl, now i know more about you and some secrets, too hahah! ), and it was really funny xD. It was almost 1.30am and we all decided to get some sleep as ah yi had to leave the hotel as early as 7.00am to meet up with her colleagues.

At about 6.45am, mum accompanied ah yi to have breakfast at the hotel. After sending ah yi off in a cab at the hotel, mum waited for everyone to get ready for breakfast at the hotel. The coffee house was packed with holiday makers. By 10.30am, we checked out from the hotel and headed for One Utama shopping mall at sis's request,again. Frankly speaking, I dont really fancy shopping. I just wanna go to One Utama for BURGER KING, hahah ! Left KL at about 2.30pm and stopped by Ipoh for DINNER !!! Ohhh.. i tell you, Ipoh is a heaven of fooooodddss ! My parents decided to go for tauge ayam, which is very famous in Ipoh. The shop we went was patronized by many actors,actress and singers. And one can view their photos on the wall of the shop.

In short, this was a pleasant trip - mum gets to meet her sister , sis gets to shop while I enjoyed eating ! Thanks to dad and mum for this wonderful holiday ! 5 more days and its the end of the school holidays ...

Finally, the dreaded exams are over. Now I can fully enjoy my two weeks holiday. Today, i went shopping with my family, from one mall to another in Penang Island. I was the only one who came home empty-handed while my sister had a fruitful day. I'm super tired right now, but I'm determined to update my blog since I had not done so since April.

My new Indian neighbour moved in a couple of days ago. They were really nice. I have a new friend of my age, so hopefully we can share more on school stuffs, go for a walk in the field or have a game of badminton :) She speaks fluent English and studies in CGL, and I take this opportunity to communicate with her in English so as to improve my second language. The family rears two dogs, a Rottweiler (don't know if I spelled it correctly) and the other is a mixed breed, one in front and the other at the backyard to guard their house. The dogs are well trained.

Last month, I went to the Penang Street Market and I want to be there again tomorrow, as it is only held once a month. My parents agreed to bring us there provided the weather is good. Yay. I'll share some pictures in my blog if I remember to bring the camera along.

People, excuse me for not blogging last weekend. Gugu and her family came to Penang for Qing Ming, so we spent some time with them. We had a really nice time together. Haven't seen my twin cousins for almost 2 and a half years since we last visited them in Singapore. During their stay in Penang,we went shopping, watched horror films, gossiped and took a lot of photos.

Dear readers, after two months break, I'm back to blogging !!

I had an awesome weekend. Sis was back from varsity and dad brought us to E&O for dinner. The food was quite similar to those we had the last time but I really like the ambience there. The theme of the night was Dine & Dance and there was this band of three playing music and singing. We sing along and you just can't believe it.. there were three tables of guests celebrating their birthdays. We really had a good time. What I want to mention is that, one of the band's member is visually impaired, and yet, he played the guitar so well.

These few days, the weather in the afternoon is so so so hot, and you just feel so sleepy at broad daylight. When the evening comes, it pours cats and dogs. What is happening to the Earth ???

For your information, Federer had been ousted from the Sony Erricson Open semi-finals on Friday. He lost his cool and smashed his tennis racquet when he lost the game to Djokovic. It was a shocking outburst. So you can imagine how frustrated he was. This was the first time Federer had such an emotional meltdown. He always stay cool even when he loses his game...So sad for him...Thank God the hard court season is over and let's hope he could try his best on clay!

Today's not only Thaipusam but it's also the last day of Chinese New Year, a.k.a Chap Goh Meh. Chap Goh Meh represents the fifteenth and final day of the Lunar New Year. This Chinese New Year, my family and I had "Yee Sang" twice- once at a restaurant and the other one at home. Yee Sang or Lou Hei is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor and is served as an appetizer to raise 'good luck' for the new year.

In this post, I wanna mention that Roger Federer has lost to Nadal in the Australian Open 2009. Federer needed just one more victory to equal Pete Sampras's number of grand slams but Nadal crushed his hopes when he defeated him in the final which lasted five sets and more than four hours. FedEx started sobbing when he was about to give his speech. I believe Federer can win his 14th Grand Slam very soon and I'll always support him !

Last Wednesday, I did high jump in school and accidentally sprained my toe. Seeing I was still limping after so many days, yesterday mum and dad suggested that i should consult the doctor in pantai mutiara hosp. As expected, the doctor sent me for an X-ray scan to check if i have any bone fracture. Luckily, there was nothing serious, but the doctor told me not to get involve in sports for one whole week.

We had an early lunch as we had to send sis back to university. After dropping her, we went to the duty-free zone complex which was located at the Malaysian-Thai border to shop for stuffs. Surprisingly, the things there were pretty pricey despite claiming to be duty-free. The only attractive thing was the Chocolate section. I am not exaggerating but they really do have a good variety of chocolates that you can even smell chocolate when you walk into the shop ! Some of the chocolates especially the imported ones could not be found in Malaysia.

A piece of good news for everyone - Electricity tariff rate is going down soon !!

Tomorrow's Thaipusam and it's a public holiday so we don't need to go to school ! But then we have school replacement for CNY on Saturday ( Valentine's Day ). Before I sign off, HAPPY THAIPUSAM to all Malaysian devotees !!

Reunion dinner at TGIF was awesome. The restaurant was fully packed. Luckily we made reservation in advance.

Like every year, we proceeded to Mahindrama Temple for candle lightings & prayers after our dinner. As usual, the main shrine was crowded with people even before the prayers started. The prayers were led by the chief monk together with his followers and it ended slightly after midnight, at 12.10am.

HECTIC is the only word that could describe my first week in school. Gone is the honeymoon year. I find Form Five to be very different from Form Four. At the very least, i don't need to crawl out of bed early in the morning last year. These days waking up as early as 5:45am every morning is no easy task for me and i need the alarm clock to disrupt me from my beauty sleep.

During the one week at school, the teachers are giving quite a lot of lessons, and there are heaps and heaps of homeworks to finish. I just can't believe that almost 1/2 of my add maths exercise book is already used up over such a short period of time.

This week, i attended two meetings for the school graduation magazine. Everything is progressing well and there is a lot to be done and i need to deliver them after Chinese New Year. Ahhh..Chinese New Year..just can't wait for it to arrive... It's only the first week of school and i'm already longing for another holiday break.

Ohh...i want to share a piece of good news. On Friday, i received an sms saying "Anda telah memenangi Peraduan Teka dan Menang yang diadakan di C-Mart.Sila hubungi.... ...". Yes, we won a contest held by C-Mart in Changloon. Why in Changloon? It is near my sister's varsity and she wanted to drop by C-Mart to get some groceries. C-Mart is the only supermarket in town which is reasonably well stocked. One of the items, my sis purchased is a pack of Milo drinks and the purchaser is eligible to enter the contest with any purchase of Nestle products. What we need to do is to guess a certain number of Milo tins that is kept in a big container. Initially, we were reluctant to submit our entry form as we never thought of winning but the sales girl encouraged us to join the contest. And it's just one entry form with my name submitted and we won $$$ voucher to shop in C-Mart. I am really lucky! Dad is the one who provided the figure and I filled up my particulars in the entry form. This was the first time we won a contest as we rarely enter contests. We should thank the sales girl who convinced us to give it a try! JUST DO IT!

Status Quo

Returned to school today and was glad to meet up with friends after such a long break. Hurried to the hall to check the name list, just to find out what class I would be in. I am to remain in the same class as last year. S5E!! Unfortunately, huijing,brenda and aikeem were no longer in the same class as me and eeelaine. But now I have yeewuan in the same class and she would be sitting just right behind me! And guess what, this year we are having 5 eelings in class!! Haha...teachers will be having a hard time identifying us.

Well, what did we do in class today? We were introduced to our class teacher and had our class monitor elected. Then we proceeded to the hall to register for school activities.

During the school holidays, Hui Jing went to London and Barcelona and she got us some souvenirs. It was really nice of her getting me this pretty gift and I liked it... thank you, Jing!!!

By 10 am, we were allowed to leave school. Surprised that our report cards were not distributed until school reopens =0

Tomorrow, we're going back to school to collect our Form Four year-end examination results. 3 Jan is my D-day as i'll get to know whether i'll advance or descend. Hope I will not fare too badly otherwise I will have to face the music. Haha. Wish you guys the best of luck =D Gotta sign off now as I have to wakey wakey at 6am tomorrow morning. Goodbye 2008 & Welcome 2009

Finally, 2008 had come to an end.

At home

This year was slightly different for me because sis left home for further studies at the university sometime ago in June. Also, my grandma who used to stay with us had moved to my uncle's house since April. Staying at my uncle's place was much more convenient for her since she had to visit a chinese sinseh downtown at least once a week and she could also attend a nearby church service on Sundays. And now, I am the only princess left at home !

I had a wonderful time in school. S4E classmates were very friendly and helpful. Brenda,Hui Jing,Eee Laine,Ai Keem and me were always engaged in group activities. At the same time, we have Yee Mei for sharing with us some silly jokes, Li Mei for teaching me maths, Eeelaine and Chee Hong for singing in class, Yi Ling for sharing her stories, and so on and so forth. I truly cherish all the sweet moments that we shared.

Uncle Robert and his family came to Penang on 22nd Dec to spend their Christmas with us, two days before my sis came back from varsity. On the 24th, Uncle Robert and his family picked my sister up from Butterworth ferry terminal. They had never ride in a ferry so they took the opportunity to do so. Later in the evening, we had a wonderful dinner prepared by mum and Auntie Suan. As it was Christmas eve, we decided to take a stroll at Gurney Drive but it was so crowded that we had to leave the place because the parking lots were fully occupied. We then diverted to Citybayview Hotel for a drink and again, we had difficulty finding a parking space. At last, we gave up and left for Queensbay to have supper at Kapitan Cafe.

Hmmm..The next day- Christmas day. (Got my Christmas presents weeksss ago..It wasn’t even December when me,my sis and Munny exchanged Christmas presents,haha!!) After having dim-sum, we proceeded to Penang Hill to get the tickets for the tram to Penang Hill. Pg. Hill was much cooler than the last time I went up, it was organised by my school’s tourism club back in 2006. Once we reached the top of the peak, we saw a lot of monkeys swinging from one tree to another. We even saw one searching for food in the rubbish bin.

After enjoying the scenic view of Penang, We dropped by Bellevue hotel to have a drink and to sit back and relax.

Munny, my sis & her friend and I went to see Linda Chung at Queensbay Mall on 6th December. She came to promote her new album, 一人晚餐, 二人世界. As Hui Huoi couldn't make it, she asked me to buy the album on her behalf so that it could be autographed by Linda Chung.

We went to QBM at around 5pm to beat the crowd although the event was supposed to begin at 8pm. Shopped around before we had dinner. Kim Gary was crowded and there was a long queue for seats so we changed venue to KFC. After dinner, we went to the podium to wait for Linda Chung. It was only 6:50pm and the place was already crowded. Before Linda Chung arrived, Eden Handicapped performed the Christmas Carol. The public donated during the performance.

Finally, at 8.45pm Linda Chung appeared before the crowd with loud applause from her fans . The event was hosted by MyFm DJ, Phoebe. She urged the fans to call out Linda’s name. The fans screamed frantically and called out her name before she appeared. She then sang a few songs and invited some fans to participate in a game. Many fans bought her album on the spot and started to queue up for her autography.

We were so tired after standing for some 3 hours!!! But nonetheless, it was worth the while.

KL Trip, part two

Early in the morning, we had a quick breakfast at Uncle Robert’s house and left for KL. Dad took us to KLCC and we were eagerly lining up for tickets to visit the Petronas Twin Tower. Although we were there as early as 9.00am, we were scheduled for the visit at 3.15pm. With so much time left, Dad wanted us to experience the monorail ride to KL Central Market. The place was congested with many foreign labourers. We took a monorail ride back to KLCC for lunch. Had lunch at Burger King. The burgers tasted much better than those of McD. After lunch, we went to Isetan. It was having grand sales.

KL Trip, part one

On the fourth day of our Cameron trip, my parents made a last minute decision. We’re leaving Cameron for KL!!! It was an impromptu trip... So we were excited and wasted no time in getting ready to set off for KL. We had lunch in a highway rest house. Then we continued our journey to KL. By the time we reached KL, it was about 2pm and that was with the help of Uncle Robert showing us the way to KL Tower. This was our first visit. Dad tried to make reservations for high tea at KL Tower but it was fully booked. So we bought the tickets just for viewing. The scenic view from above the KL Tower was very spectacular. We walked around and took photos and peering through the telescopes provided.

Then our next stop was Pavilion KL. Most of the shops were selling branded stuffs and many were having Christmas sales. After shopping, we decided to try out the famous J.Co Doughnuts. Queuing up for J.Co doughnuts wasn’t an easy task. The queue was so long. After purchasing those doughnuts, we had to wait in line for a table to savour the mouth-watering and scrumptious doughnuts. The doughnuts tasted equally good as those of Big Apple’s.

Then, we continued our browsing through the luxurious shops. Popped by Parkson Grand and went in to one of the fitting rooms to try an outfit. The fitting room was so large and beautifully furnished. It was really an eye opener for us. We walked around the mall for hours and were never tired. It was amazing how we could do it, but when it comes to shopping, anything is possible.

We had dinner at Pavilion’s food court. The choice is plentiful and we were spoilt for choice. Each one of us ordered something different so that we could try out. As it was getting late, we decided to sleepover at Uncle Robert’s house. Moving around in town at night was not fun at all as we almost got lost while on our way to Uncle Robert’s house. We ended up in Putrajaya but slowly found our way back.

Cameron Trip, part three

Day Three, 28th Nov

We visited the Robinson’s Waterfall, one of the much-publicized recreational spot in Cameron Highlands. Fruits like blackberry and chilli were growing along the pathway which leads to the waterfall. Robinson’s Waterfall is a rather charming waterfall although it looked a bit of a notorious fall. It was amazing to see the water flow down in such a high speed. There was a small cottage located near the waterfall which sells homemade blackberry jam.

Then we moved on to a playground near the Robinson’s Waterfall to have a walk while the kids could have some fun there. However, the playground was a little muddy so we went on to our favourite playground in Strawberry Park Resort. We were tired out after running up and down the super slide. Then it was back to Tanah Rata in search for food.

In our Cameron trip this time, we wanted to try out as many food outlets as possible. So, we took a bold step, walked into Jasmine Café. The surrounding was not as comfortable as Rosedale but surprisingly, the food tasted much better than Rosedale. The place was a highly popular among foreigners especially its rijstafel set meals. The boss of the cafe suggested that we should try the Strawberry Juice. He said that Jasmine’s strawberry juice is the best in Cameron. And almost everyone of us ordered the strawberry juice. Uncle Robert liked it so much that he ordered another one. The drink was really smacking, it has a distinctive taste that you’ll never forget...you should go for it if you happen to dine at Jasmine café.

After lunch, we dropped by at Tringkap for some snacks like steamed tapioca. The steamed tapioca is usually eaten with brown sugar. It was our all-time favourite. Corn in cup is also a must when we visit Cameron Highlands.

My sister wanted to purchase some souvenirs for herself so we proceeded to the Multicrops Central Market to get some since we’re leaving Cameron tomorrow. Multicrops Central Market not only sells many species of plants, it also sells many cute items. After getting some souvenirs, we went back to the apartment for a rest.

This was the first time we had meals in the same place for three days. It was three in a row!! T-cafe, here we come... We decided to have dinner there again because its food and service was excellent.

It was the end of another day!

Cameron Trip, part two

Day Two, 27th Nov

My sister , Munny and I woke up as early as 7am to go for a morning walk and then have a game of badminton at the open space just outside the apartment we were staying. Mum and Aunty Suan were already preparing breakfast in the kitchen when we left the apartment for our morning walk. Breakfast was ready when we returned to the apartment. By then mum & dad and Uncle Robert have left for the market at Tanah Rata to get more food stuff and newspapers.

It was rather cold in the morning, and kind of misty. Nevertheless, everyone of us still went ahead for our morning shower. Our first stop on the second day was to the Sam Poh Temple. We always enjoyed visiting the temple, especially my cousins, Emily and Justin. Ever wonder why they like it so much? Well, that’s because they enjoyed playing at the fish pond. Imagine Justin, ever so brave, putting his hand into the pond and waiting for the fish to bite it, just like those in the fish spa except they put in their legs instead of hands. I found this temple quite extraordinary, though the weather was not really cold but we saw thin layers of ice forming on the flowers. This ornate Buddhist temple is built on a hill overlooking the lower Brinchang town.

Then, we moved on to visit The Lakehouse. We have never been there. This place was recommended for their tea and scones with strawberry jam after a search for Cameron attractions. The ambience and surroundings of this hotel was special and nice. Opposite the hotel was a super duper big lake but the water looks muddy because of the continuous rain during the past few days.

Our next destination for the day was Boh Tea Cafe which was located in between Tanah Rata and Ringlet town. If by any chance you happen to be there, you should try its “Teh Tarik “. I especially like the strong aroma of the Boh tea. After enjoying the cool breeze at Boh Tea Cafe, our stomachs were growling again. So we went seeking for food at Tanah Rata again. After much deliberations, we decided to have our lunch at Rosedale Cafe. We sat upstairs and the view was superb. Daddy and Uncle Robert checked their mails while waiting for the food to be served since they provide free WiFi service.

After another contented meal, we proceeded to one of the strawberry farms. We longed for strawberry ice sticks and finally we got to taste it. It was yummy!!

The visit to Cactus Valley was a last minute decision. Dad thought it would be good to take a look since all of us have not been there before. They have a very large breed of cactus from small to big, all species of flowers and those fruity tomatoes! Although we didn’t get to purchase any of the plants but we enjoyed ourselves very much at Cactus Valley.

Believe it or not, our stomachs were growling again!!! I guess it was because of the cold weather. We wanted something light for tea. There was no second thoughts, we headed for T-Cafe cuz they have a lot of choice like chocolate moist cakes, carrot cakes, cheese cakes, apple pies and scones. I can say they have the best cakes and pastries in town!! After treating ourselves with those scones, pies and cakes, we returned to our apartment to have a short rest before taking off for dinner.

Dinner is never the same without steamboat in Cameron. Of course, it’s at Highland Restaurant. One of the best steamboat restaurant in Cameron. Need to book ahead, if not one would be turned away and feeling disappointed. I suggest you go early if you have not pre-booked. It was crammed with people during lunch and dinner. After stuffing up our empty stomachs, we headed back to our apartment. We could not take a walk at the night market because it was drizzling. And guess what? We went home for a game of mah-jong again!

Cameron Trip, part one

FINALLY. I’m posting about my trip to Cameron Highlands. Was too lazy to update for the past few weeks. Here it is...

Day One, 26th Nov
Started our journey at 6am. Arrived at Ipoh around 8am and immediately adjourned to Uncle Thomas’s house to pick up my cousin, Munny. Had breakfast with Uncle Thomas and his family at their favourite place - Old Town. After breakfast we continued our journey and finally reached the Equatorial Hotel apartment. We rented a three bedroom unit from mum’s friend. It was the third time we stayed there. This time it was more special because we found a heater at the fireplace. It was definitely more comfortable and cosy.

Uncle Robert’s family reached the apartment 15 minutes later. Together, we helped to clean up the toilets, rooms, kitchen, dining area, living room and the balcony. The place wasn’t dirty but we just wanted to make sure it was sparkling clean.

We went to the restaurant that we frequented during our last trip, but I don’t know the name of the restaurant. The food tasted alright but was a bit expensive though. We decided not to dine there again.

Gugu and her family came from Singapore to visit us today. So nice to see my cute lil' cousin, Joseph. He has grown so much taller.While mum and dad spent time in catching up with gugu and guzhang, me and sis were busy playing with Joseph. Too bad JW and JL couldn't join their parents this trip, hopefully they will be able to do so in march next year.

Hey, people ! I'm back to blogging !

Exams ended four days ago, but i did not blog 'cuz had nothing much to talk about, plus i was SICK. Btw, today's last day of school !! School holiday is exactly what we needed after three weeks of torturing exams...

Since the exams ended and we had this special holiday yesterday (thanks to SPM & STPM exams), me, brenda, eee laine and ai keem decided to go for a movie at GSC queensbay. Initially, we wanted to watch HSM3 or The Coffin, but both shows only have two screenings, so we went for madagascar 2. Two thumbs up for madagascar 2. It was hilarious and, at the same time, very touching despite being a cartoon movie.

After the movie, we were like straying around queensbay mall. We continued walking and we saw Zhao Min working as a volunteer for the Penang Bridge Marathon,distributing shirts and goodies! After window-shopping for some time, we decided to pamper ourselves at Coffee Bean. We indulged ourselves in coffee and chocolate drinks while reading magazines.

Then we came out with the idea to go to the kid's playing centre in Jusco ! We had lots of fun there, doing things we have not done for years...Picture speaks a thousand words..

Terrorist Attack?

Woke up this morning to find my neighbour's house splashed with red paint. This house has been vacant for more than six months. The paint also spilled over to another neighbour's house...they were angered over the incident and had a hard time cleaning up the mess. Wonder what's happening? Fortunately, our house was spared.

Yeah, I passed my Grade 5 piano practical exam !! Haha..I was relieved when my piano teacher dropped the bombshell..and people, I'm officially Grade 6 now !!

This morning Eee Laine and I had a game of badminton. After the game, we went over to Auntie Poh Zhu's house to peep on Ben. He kept barking and Auntie Poh Zhu came out to see what was happening to her doggie. She was surprised to see us at the gate and greeted us in her pyjamas. Then she carried Ben to us and told us to bring him home. So we brought him home and took some pics of him.

During the eve of mid-autumn festival, Eee Laine, Tammy, Ivy and Yi Zhen came to my house. At first we planned to walk around our "taman" but unfortunately, it rained, so they came over to my house..We had lots of fun that night..too bad Zhao Min couldn't join us cause she had to attend a rehearsal for a wedding ceremony at Than Lin..and here are some pics to share..

Great news! Elaine went to Gurney Plaza to see Evan Yo on Merdeka night with Hui Jing and Bren Da and she was chosen to sing a song on stage. How was she chosen among the rest of the fans? The MC announced that whoever raised his/her hand in an extraordinary way will be invited on stage to sing one of Evan Yo's songs. So, our Ms Teh Eee Laine raised both her hands whilst holding on to numerous plastic bags. Well, just lemme explain a little .. After she sang, Evan praised her singing vocal and gave her a BIG HUG. I guess it was like a dream comes true for her to be hugged by a singer she loves so crazily. She must have gone insane on that very moment. Oh, something which I almost missed out... Evan also offered his drink to Elaine (wow, she had this oppurtunity to "taste" Evan's saliva). But somehow she turned down his offer which many people thought she was silly to do so. Evan also offered to be her 3-minutes boyfriend !! Fans down there were shouting and screaming. Yes, I can imagine the scenario! News of Elaine going on stage spread like wild fire in school. Unfortunately for 2 GREAT FANS of Evan - Hui Jing and Bren Da, they were deprived of this opportunity. Never mind, there's always a next time. Glad I wasn't a fan of Evan..if not i'd have turned into a green-eyed monster * ROAR * Anyway, I think they had a superb evening especially Elaine.

Aha ! Let's talk about tennis, the recent US Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows. My favourite player, Roger Federer had made it to the semi-finals. I know he can beat Djokovic to advance in the final (: Good luck , FedEx !

Btw, CAMP ROCK will be airing on Disney Channel tomorrow night and we're planning to watch it at Tam's house. Two years ago , we ( Ivy , Zhao Min and me ) went to Tam's house to watch High School Musical and now we're planning the same thing again. Just that this time, we're watching CAMP ROCK !!! Can't wait to see the Jonas Brothers (: My parents didn't subscribe to cartoon channels on Astro because their priorities are Sports, News and Wah Lai Toi. * Sigh *.

Arghhh!! My one-week school holiday is OVER. Didn't do anything this holiday..Just eat & sleep and sleep & eat (coz' mum has been cooking specialities for my sis during the holidays) and watching telly all day long. Now, I don't even dare to stand on the weighing scale..I know i must have put on (a lot of) weight...What a monotonous holiday *sigh*

This morning, we dropped by Auntie Wooi See's house and she baked us some tasty brownies specially for me and my sister.

Sent my sis back to varsity today. She was home for a one-week holiday since last thursday. Guess she'll be missing us again once she's back in the campus. On our way to Sintok, we were listening to hitz.fm in the car and the 'gotcha' thingy was kinda funny :) But hitz kept playing the same old songs over and over again. Btw, took a few pics on the way back home, out of boredom.

Almost everyone is blogging about this very significant day-08.08.08.

I shall start writing about my piano exam first.

I left school early for my piano exam in City Baview Hotel. Waited for about an hour until the steward announced that it was my turn. Was a bit nervous as i walked into the room. My examiner-Ms. Heather Birks greated me with a big smile when i went into the room. Started off with scales, then pieces,aural and sight reading. I don't think i performed good enough. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that she'll be kind enough to let me pass my exam.

Nothing to blog about Beijing Olympics that'll begin in less than 15mins...Have tution later, and grandma will be coming over tonight :)
